And a Happy Autumn to you all!
Do you ever find that, although you really want to do something, something always seems to hold you back? You keep telling yourself you’re going to do it but you never actually get round to it. Or you find all sorts of excuses not to do it. You tell yourself you’re not prepared or you’re not ready or the time isn’t right.
Well, that’s exactly what I’ve been doing recently re writing a blog post for Cupcakes and Cadenzas. I’ve found all sorts of reasons for not doing it however, today, I decided that enough was enough. I was writing a blog post come Hell or High Water.
You see, sometimes, the only way to get started is to get started. Does that make sense? Sometimes, in the words of Nike, you have to ‘Just do it!’ (that, by the way, is one of my favourite taglines. I wish I had thought of it first. It’s so simple but hugely effective). And so I decided that the best way to get started with my writing again was to just write something. Because, something has to be better than nothing.
So, I thought a little autumn catch up post would be in order.
A Quick Autumn Catch Up
The summer holidays are over and, going by the weather, summer has long gone. That means I’m back teaching my private students again. It’s lovely to see them all again and hear all their news.
I’ve also been doing a lot of crafting over the last few months, especially knitting and crocheting. I finished the gorgeous Sunshine and Showers blanket by Jane Crowfoot and I’m now working on the Vintage Sweethearts blanket through Crochet Now magazine. I also have a pile of patterns for various hats, scarves, gloves, shawls and jumpers to be made before the arrival of the colder weather. Not sure they’ll all be finished in time but a girl can dream, can’t she?
I’m still part of the wonderful Makelight community and am continuing to (hopefully) improve my photographs and images on Instagram as I go through their various courses and lessons. If you have any kind of online presence and would like to grow and improve it, it would definitely be worth your while having a look at Emily and Stef’s site. I have learned so much from them, it’s such a friendly and helpful community and they’re about to open the doors for the October intake. This is one of my recent Instagram images.
And that’s about it really.
I absolutely love Autumn (find out why by clicking HERE) so I know that I will have lots of stuff to share with you as the season progresses. In fact, I made a pretty little printable which is free to download when you sign up to the Cupcakes and Cadenzas monthly newsletter. The link is HERE.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the new season too and have lots of opportunities to get out and enjoy what Autumn has to offer.
Until the next time,
