August Challenge – Week 3 Update

First of all I have to say that I can’t believe it’s been a whole week since I posted anything on here. Somehow last week suddenly became very busy and before I knew it, it was Tuesday again and so I’m going to do a very quick update on my personal ‘no-spend’ challenge. This is technically the post from last Friday.

The funny thing about last week (week 3) was that I began to find that there were less and less things tempting me. As you know, during the first two weeks there were many things that I would have just bought on the spur of the moment but as this challenge goes on I have found that I’m not as tempted to look at things, try things on or impulse buy as I was before. They do say that it takes 21 times of doing something to form a habit and I’m beginning to think that I am getting into the habit of not spending unnecessarily and that’s got to be good – right? Anyway, the one thing I was tempted to buy was a new blusher brush at £18.50 but, I resisted, and so my total saving for week 3 was £18.50 as I didn’t spend anything at all on unnecessary items.

So, all in all I’m feeling very pleased with myself and there are only two weeks to go. The one small-ish problem that I now have is that Fossil has only gone and brought out another bag which I love equally! *sighs*

Hmmm…I may have to make a spur of the moment decision when I get back to the shop.

Decisions, decisions…

Until the next time,

Denise x

  1. Not that you asked, but I still like the first bag more! Maybe continue with your challenge and get both?
So glad it is getting easier! No one ever believes me when I say that, but now I have company, so I feel less freakish! 🙂

  2. Roanne, thanks for your opinion and I should have asked. Don’t know why I didn’t. There is definitely more to the first one but you’re right, I could carry the challenge on and have both eventually – in different colours.
A few weeks ago I would never have believed that it could be so easy not to spend and also to feel better for it. I think the fact that others are doing it along with you makes it easier. Thanks for your support and a huge well done to on your no-spend too.
