“a little bit of inspiration and encouragement to get you through the day”
A Bit About Me
Hi there! I’m Denise Mitchell and I’m chief cook, bottle-washer and general dogsbody at Cupcakes and Cadenzas. I’m also a music teacher, crafter, yarn addict and eternal optimist and I love inspiring, motivating and encouraging people to live the best lives they can with the resources they have available to them.
I also recently opened an Etsy shop called Yvie’s Attic where I sell antiques, vintage, pre-loved and handmade items. Please feel free to pop over and have a browse.
I live in the North East of Scotland with my partner, Mr C&C, (who refuses to have his photo put on here), our two gorgeous German Shepherd Dogs, my little cockatiel and my exceptionally handsome black and white cob (see below). I would love to tell you what my hobbies are but I am what’s known as a ‘Renaissance Soul’. That means I’m interested in so many things it would take all day to list them here. No doubt you’ll find out more about that as you get into the blog.
A Bit About Cupcakes and Cadenzas
Cupcakes and Cadenzas is my little corner of the Internet where I can share my creativity and my love of all things crafty. I also post about other things too though, mainly things that inspire me and make me happy. You’ll find hints, tips and posts on all sorts of things here including crafting, positive living, journaling, baking and blogging and my aim is to, hopefully, inspire some of you to try something different or new, or, to help you out with ideas if you’re feeling a bit stuck. Whatever your reason for being here though, I really hope that everything you find will, in some way, fill your heart with joy. And if I can help even just one person to step out of their comfort zone and try something new or different, my day will be made.
Oh, and one other thing – the name – Cupcakes and Cadenzas. I love cupcakes. I love cadenzas. They motivate me, make me happy and they represent my creativity. I’m a cake-loving, mezzo soprano…what more can I say?
